Journaling:
The ultimate empty nesters. Every night is date night from the comfort of home.
Dinner and a show. Premier seating. No shoes required.
The Story:
This weeks AnnaChallenge Dinner Rituals, took some thinking.
The kids are grown but we have one still home, sort of, sometimes
so we rarely eat dinner together.
My husband and I settled comfortably into our nightly routine
of dinner in front of the television set.
With laptops and iPads nearby, we check our email, chatting off and on,
watching the news or golf channel (not my choice) and enjoying a casual meal.
It suits us perfectly until our 15 year old dog rouses from her spot near us
to begin her nightly stroll into the bedroom, pausing once to look back at us as if to say,
Wellarent you coming? Its getting dark and time for bed now.
to be continued. Tune in tomorrow. Same place, same time.

Process:
This page is mostly a matter of layering and blending. Nothing too fancy.
The background is a combination of two solid papers
(an AP Wanderlust paper on multiply mode over an AP Solid Christmas paper on normal mode).
The grid transfer from AP Wanderlust is placed on top of these two layers.
Then just begin layering elements and experiment with blending modes.
The trickiest part was creating a soft mask of the TV screen so I could clip the Special art.
I used the magic wand tool to select the inner TV screen and gaussian blur to soften the edges.
Then it was easy to clip the special art, which I set to linear burn mode and topped with WarmGlows No.1.
Place additional WarmGlows around the page to mimic the feel of TV watching.
