This is an odd year. The three day blizzard event threw me off. I wasnt nearly as ready for Christmas as I usually am. I feel like I didnt hardly go Christmas shopping because I just kept randomly picking up items here and there. There is tension among the in-laws. Wade Christmas was a week before Christmas. Liz isnt coming at all this holiday. The two days of school before break were silly and worthless. I didnt bake. I wrapped at the last minute. Now theres ice and blowing snow and we will not be going anywhere on Christmas Eve. I think its the first time in my entire life that I will have been home on Christmas Eve. It all feels weird and very un-Christmas like. I am reminded though to focus on the things that truly matter. My family is all healthy and happy. We have a nice warm home and plenty of things to sustain us through the cold and snow. We can play together, laugh together, and snuggle together. And that is what Christmas should really be about. Now I just need to feel that way! Merry Christmas!
