Oscraps

Dear Francois,

Dear Francois,

It is hard to believe spring is really on its way when the snow covers everything. Inspired by the frogs and a piece of trivia I learned this week about Queen Elizabeth I, I came up with this.
The journaling reads:
Dear Francois,
I fear spring will never come. The days of dancing buried with the tulips under the blankets of white. I dream of birds chirping and rush to my window. But alas, all that greets me is stillness. Is there life hidden amongst the white? Has everyone gone on vacation with the fairies? Will they find their way back? Pardon the melancholy this February eve. I know unseen the crocuses are preparing to herald spring. Oh what fanfare as they erupt across the countryside with colour. As I wait, I'll warm myself with memories of dancing through the garden with you last summer to the sounds of laughter. Please join us again this year in July. The rabbits will be here as well. It will be a grand time.
yours,
Liz

(the trivia: apparently Prince Francois of France was engaged to Elizabeth I, she called him frog because of a piece of jewelry he gave her. Later she ended the engagement and remained single to the end of her reign)
