Dancing Queen

HUGE departure for me here - I've been channelling my inner Helen to try out a sort of fantasy type LO - using the one and only fantasy paper I have!

And it is my entry for Digi Dare # 217 - to scrap a fairy tale.

My fairy tales reads thus....are you sitting comfortably, then I'll begin.....

Once upon a time there was a mama who was concerned about her little girls apparent lack of co-ordination. So the mama signed the little girl up to study ballet, aged 4, in the hopes that this might help and, of course, because she was longing for her little girl to enjoy ballet as much as the mama had as a child (and lets not forget that the mama wanted to see her little girl in the pink tutu come on - who wouldnt, right?!). The little girl, however, had other plans and spent an entire term sitting the corner refusing to join in. She did, eventually, get up and take part and as time passed the mamas little girl changed from an ugly duckling - OK, thats a bit harsh, a signet, then - to a swan. Well, sort of.

TTA & TTB exams were successfully passed with the little girl looking just like a princess. The little girl, however, was becoming increasingly tomboy like, and ballet was becoming increasingly exam driven, so the mama changed tack and suggested jazz dance classes instead. And how the mama enjoyed watching the little girl boogie-woogieing and strutting her stuff to pop tunes by Abba.

And so it came to be that the decidedly un-princessy little girl improved her co-ordination, the mama got to enjoy having a princess in a tutu for a short while anyway, and the little girls family got to have loads of photos of her doing this.

Amazing! I really like your journaling - you have such a fun journaling "voice" - this will be a fun page for your dd to read later on in life. And your whole design for the fantasy page is wonderful - the extraction is perfect! Might have been a departure from your normal style, but you rocked this! Thank you so much for playing along with our Digi Dare this week!

Just beautiful! Loved your extraction and the shadowing is just perfect!! Thanks for playing!!

Your story is so perfectly told Selena! I love the little world you created on the page to go with the world you can create with your words! AMAZING!

Like you say, a departure from your usual style, but he who dare, wins! The story telling is VERY you, even if the world in which it's placed is fantastical / magical. More please!!!!!

Well I think you channeled your inner Helen perfectly!! This is absolutely fabulous & of course your story telling rocks :)
