The Wades have always enjoyed our Christmas Eve party. Whether we were at Paul & Connies or Grandma Es., there was always a fair share of beer...after all, what are German and Irish holidays about? I was a little surprised when I got older and realized that not all families celebrate with the gusto that we did. Drunken phone calls to Washington performing Piano Man, jolly sessions on the hot seat being grilled, the family portrait on the stairs caroling. We never needed shots to create a rip roaring good time with the family, just good old beer....and Grandma Es whiskey. I cant help but wonder if this is what contributed to the great Santa Debacle. The Santa that was arrested for hiring a hit man. Every time we look at a picture from Christmas eve, someone asks...Was that the Santa? Now that weve all gotten older and many of us have kids, the hosts of Christmas Eve tried to declare lights out on our fantastic family tradition. Well, we are Wades dammit. We dont stand for that sort of thing. If you dont want to deal with us, well start our own tradition. Dont try to stop
us. Weve got Santa on our side. And he knows a hit man!
