Another spread for my ongoing Southwest Travels Road Trip album. The FotoInspired Templates were fun to use for these pagesand so fast. It makes sense why people love them. I clipped in the photos and map, added a plain background, and added embellishments. With all the visuals done, I felt like I had all the time in the world to journal my story.

Journaling reads: Red Canyon, on Scenic Byway 12 on our way to Zion, was magic, and hiking there became one of our favorite memories of the trip. We arrived late morning, and the day was warming--as we stepped out onto the Birdseye Trail, we knew wed be shedding layers. Our pace was brisk at first despite the elevation...and then we got to a turn where we saw even more uphill hiking and we wondered at our own capacity to rise to the challenge. Proceed? Or turn back?

Our initial response was safety. We were all alone out there. Go back! But then we talked and the more we talked the more we realized we wanted to proceed. We made a decision to give up our ideas of how our bodies SHOULD hike and instead to work with our bodies TO hike. This meant frequent stops and mandatory water breaks and admitting that we were no longer 30. Or even 60. By the end we were both euphoric at our successful completion of the trek, and absolutely elevated by the vivid orange and scarlet rock formations, ponderosa pines, and blue skies. I raised Petes red backpack--which we had borrowed for the trip--in triumph when the trail flattened out...we wanted him to know how much we appreciated that bag. --9/26/2017

love the turquoise-green accents. fantastic with the photos of the red canyon. wonderful travel report.

Love the journaling! I almost killed my husband on a hike in Glacier. I didn't realize that he was in distressed as I continued to push forward. Luckily, he realized and yelled for me to stop so he could rest. After that we were more mindful. Beautiful photos!
