Journaling reads: Wi-fi could be sporadic, so we would find ourselves going old-school, with paper maps, rather than relying on the cars GPS to navigate from Bryce Canyon City to Springdale. After Bryce, which is mainly a tourist hub built by Reuben (Ruby) Syrett in 1916 (its still in the family), we were pleasantly surprised to find that Springvale was actually a town with streets and food choices and wonderful coffee. Deep Creek and Cafe Soleil became our go-tos. Our hotel, the La Quinta, backed right up into the mountains, and the shuttle bus into the park was just minutes away.

Nothing beats a template for a fast layout. I altered this one by extending the text, duplicating a horizontal frame, and adding a long narrow frame that I grabbed from another template in my stash. Because I am self-printing this book, I don't worry about the edges being cut offit's been a nice freedom to have, as I like the look of things running off the page or going right to the edge. This album is more about the stories than about the photos, which are acting mostly as reminders, so I am really appreciating the stain and paint layers on the templates I've been usingby recoloring them, I can work to tie all the colors of my diverse photos together.
