Herrskap och tjnstefolk

When I saw this photo, it reminded me of an English TV serie from the 1970s called Upstairs, Downstairs.
The series follow the highly regarded Bellamy family in the fashionable Belgravia district of London. In the large house at 165 Eaton Place, Parliamentary Richard Bellamy lives with his elegant wife Lady Marjorie Bellamy, daughter of the Earl of Southwold, as well as their two children, James and Elizabeth. The family socializes both in highly respected political circles and with England's nobility and royal house. To maintain a household of Bellamy's rank, a major service strike is required, in Bellamy's fall led by the conservative Scottish butler Angus Hudson. By his side, Hudson has the strict cook Mrs Kate Bridges. In the household there is also the aging chambermaid Miss Maud Roberts, the maid Rose Buck, the butler and servant Alfred Harris and the kitchen maid Emily. The series starts when the young girl Sarah seeks employment as a maid in the household.

Process: I started with an artsy paper from ArtPlay Palette Sparkle and set it as the background. I placed the photo and duplicated it. Both layers were set to blending mode Color Burn. I added some adjustments layers and did the editing on these. I added brushes, overlays and transfers from ArtPlay Palette Sparkle. Some were recolored and others duplicated and transformed. I placed an edge overlay from Sparkle Edge Overlays No. 1 and sprinklez from SnowSprinklez No. 1. I finished the layout with the buttons from ArtPlay Palette Sparkle and the title.
Beautiful blending and love the subtle texture of the background paper! Gorgeous artwork!

I love this page and the antiquity that it shows. I would love to think that the description of why you made the page somehow went along with the page, so the next person knows "the story" behind the story. I love that information. Wonderful page.
