Photos by Zanna and Melaina Boucher
I am so thrilled about my DGD's success, this page is really celebrating her. She's had a very rough few years, and this brings me such joy. Journaling:
After less than three months at Paul Mitchell the School, Melaina had, possibly, her most critical test on November 16, 2017, when she cut and colored her mothers hair! Melaina wanted to do a fun color, but Zanna didnt want to go too crazy, so they compromised on Rose Gold. It was Melainas first time coloring hair on a real person (as opposed to a practice doll), and her first time cutting hair in layers. She nailed both tasks. The color turned out exactly like the photo they were trying to match, and Melainas learning leader said she did a great job on the layers. Melaina and Zanna both enjoyed the day. It hit me today. Watching her. Shes realizing her dream. Shes actually doing this! And shes good at it! She was having a great time and is so professional with the learning leaders. Everyone was so nice and several were excited about my final hair. Zanna got to chat with Melainas friend, Kennedy during the day. She is one of the other gals in the high school program. Zannas Facebook friends were all agog seeing the beautiful results, and several said they wished Melaina could do their hair. Marta even wants to arrange a Girls Trip to Utah!
