Journaling: Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the light, the clean, crisp air and the smell of the sweet leaves under my feet. I have a love/hate kind of relationship with my phone, but I love that I can capture snippets of the day, capture what catches my eye in passing . . . so for the most part, I love it because I have a camera with me at all times.
This falls colors were loud and proud and begged to be photographed and I complied. The lone leaf on the street, the store keeper putting pumpkins in his planter in front of his store, the car splashing through the slush during an early snow fall all speak to a season that wants attention.
And when you think about it, the smart phone, has revolutionized photography like nothing else. Its given us a camera in our pocket.

Notes: I used every template layer except two. Its my habit to turn off all the layers of the template as I start and just work with the photo mask layers. Its easier for me to build from there. No distractions. For the big photo, I used a mask brush from Ablaze and enlarged it to fit under the small photo masks and clipped my photo to it. Then clipping all the rest of the photos to the smaller masks, resizing and positioning. I duplicated the large photo and clipped it to the photoblendz over the original photo and blended to Vivid Light.
I usually use solid backgrounds for these kinds of pages, but I thought I would experiment with artsy paper this time around. I liked artsy paper 1 the best. Then I used the edge overlay from Ablaze just above it in the layers panel.
The hipster plumes were moved a little and recolored, using colors from the photos. I also slipped a little word art underneath the main photo, showing through the gap in the mask. I moved all the stains over the photos, recolored, again using colors from the photos.
I changed the number in the template to the word fall and used a style on it. Over it I placed the dimensional element. On the left side, I brought in the branch transfer to frame the main photo. I only used a part of the threads and moved it towards the top of the page. I tacked down the photos with the staple from the kit.
In the upper left corner I stamped the brush from Amidst, again using a color from the photos. I typed out my title, positioned it over the large photo, then added my journaling. That finished this page.
