I liberally applied the paint strokes to a square shape (made with the shape tool). The paint is clipped to the square. When I was done, I merged all of the layers and ran the composite through the ps filters to get it all blurred together. Then, I went back and played with the colors to make it darker on the left and lighter on the right. I added the artstrokes over the finished image and added the leaf and title and it was done.
