In Love With Paris

I havent seen my family yet since they got back from Europe last week, but I had Autumn email me this photo she posted on Instagram. I love photos that are out of the ordinary of famous landmarks and the feeling of being in an unnamed neighborhood in this particular photo, makes it even more special. The buildings are probably older than the Tower itself. Seeing Autumn in a city she only dreamt about visiting makes my heart sing. What a fortunate young lady!

Process Notes: Using the 12 x 12 fotoblendz, I brought in the photo over it in the layers panel. I resized the photo then resized the fotoblendz to fit the photo not worrying about proportions. I wanted an angular photo blendz to reflect the angular shapes of the structures in the photo. I brought in the sides of the mask and extended the top of the mask to accommodate the Eiffel Tower. Solid paper 2 is the foundation I built the rest of the page on.

After clipping the photo to the mask, I duplicated the photo and blended to Soft Light. I brought in solid paper 3, clipped it the the photo layers and blended to Overlay which brought out the color more.

I added a layer mask to the fotoblendz and with a stain brush I punched out the overcast sky to reveal the background paper. I left the mask on Normal Blend mode after experimenting and not getting a look I liked. Blend modes dont always work. To pop the colors more I used a glow and blended to Color Burn at 100% opacity.

After getting the basic work done, I used artsy transfers and transfers from the palette to add interest above and below the photo layers. I added texture with the tapes and additional crack in the background with an APP Portiere brush along with a white splatter at the top. The black splatter is with the Different Strokes brush and the decor brush was added, all above the photo.

The stitches and multimedia hearts were added along with the title, caption and date. That completes this layout.
Beautiful done ! Love all your work on the sky, the texture near the buildings ! And thank you for your detailled process !
