Notes in Photoshop Elements
This is the second spread in my new Family Vacation Album Project, which I am trying to get a jump on before I forget all the stories.
Working with the album templates is supremely easy, but after I finish with my template tweaks, I sometimes struggle with the background. I do like a clean basic white background, but in a long book like this one, I also like to mix it up. Plus, part of methe part that's paying Picaboo for all that inkwants to cram in as much detail and color as I can.
Hence, on this spread, once I did the photos, added more frames, shifted things around to accommodate more journaling than was called for on the template, I created a background of Hygge solid papers #2 over #3 on multiply mode and dragged in a few Hygge Artsy Transfers. Since this layout is about travelling from a hotel in the city to a gathering at my daughter's apartment before leaving for our family vacation, I liked the suggestion of interior that these digital elements provided. (I also liked how the stones played off the plaid in Jake's shirt.) The dark tones also made the frames (and the photos) pop, which is a good thing when the photos are more about memory-keeping than photographic artistry.
