JOURNALING: "What the daughter does, the mother did."
I didn't have any particular photographer in mind for this challenge, so I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art website mentioned in the challenge description and started looking through the selections. I just thought this one by Thomas Eakins was so cute. According to Wikipedia, "Eakins has been credited with having introduced the camera to the American art studio." The controversial Philadelphian (1844-1916) became interested in the (in)famous Eadweard Muybridge's motion studies and worked briefly with him before branching out on his own independent studies.
I adjusted the color to make it a bit more pink and masked it to give it soft edges. Then I found the Jewish quote and thought it was the perfect quote.
