I found this photograph recently in a pile of snaps given to me by my cousin, the original is small and in not very good condition but I really love my Aunts' style, especially Aunt Maggie so had a play around with it to try and focus on her ( didn't like the other Aunt...)
I clipped the photograph to one of the fotoblenz adding more depth in parts with AnnaBlendz Artsy brushes, I then masked this totally and revealed using the same brushes, this gave me the opportunity to paint in and control what I wanted revealed and still have faded texture from the original clipping mask - does this make sense? The background paper is a fave from AP Old world, flipped to give me the paint stains at the right hand side. On top is a selection of overlays and transfers from Artsy transfers Pierian and L'Amour, the pink stain from L'Amour has allowed me to highlight Aunt Maggie. I still thought the page was lacking something so I duplicated the photograph layer once more and changed the mode to Color Dodge with a fill of 30% and this gave me the pop I was looking for! Lastly I added more stains, taped textures, paper textures and wordart.
