One Chapter Ends

Pictured from left to right: Autumn with her friends, Chloe and Mackenzie. It brings tears to my eyes to see these grown up ladies when it was only yesterday they were little girls . . . but oh my, they are such precious ladies.

Journaling: Very soon, their senior year will come to a close and they will carry fond memories of their adventures together as they go their separate ways to college in the fall. But for now, this special moment, they go to their Senior Prom together. No doubt, these beautiful ladies had a very good time as they did throughout their school years together.

Process Notes: Over artsy paper 1 from Inflorescence I placed the mask from Pierian and clipped the photo to it. I rotated the mask to accommodate the photo better. I used an action on the photo to make the colors pop before I brought it into the layout. At the top of the photo I placed a fotoglow and used Color Burn blend mode, which popped the colors even more. Around the bottom and right side of the photo I stamped three tissue texture brushes and used hue/saturation adjustments on them.

Bringing in the flower overlay and book textures over the overlay in the layers panel and with a layer mask, erased the flower overlay from the page corners. I recolored the overlay using a shade from the sky and blended it to Linear Burn.

The blossom and ribbon from Quaintville was a perfect addition for the dimensional elements, then added the title and journaling along with the birds. Sampling a color from the flower overlay I recolored the birds and called it finished.
Your layout beautifully expresses the magic of the moment. Love the title, the blending, and that folded corner.

what a poignant moment! you've perfectly celebrated the joy and yet hinted at the touch of sadness.

Great use of the mask, the blending is beautiful like the photo, I love the paper and colors, awesome!!
