Hope this isn't considered x-rated! Yes! We post our cute little grandkids, and our dazzling vacation layouts, but every now and then, Real Life intrudes, and it's sometimes very messy! This is how my DH spent his day yesterday, and one of the downsides of being a home-owner!

Journaling:
There are some days we wish, more than other days, that we were on a sewer line. When our house was built in 1988, the drain field drained too quickly to meet government standards, so we had to install (at a much greater expense) a mound system. It required a pump. Not something that comes to mind very often over the years, especially as it quietly goes about its business day after day, year after year for nearly 30 years. But yesterday the water in the toilets started bubbling, and worse. After investigation and consultation, the culprit, it was discovered, was a failed pump. Not an easy or immediate fix, as it turns out. Naturally, just the right pump must be installed, and they arent just stocked at Lowes or Home Depot! Special order. Dave spent most of the afternoon digging up access to the tanks, for of course, while this is going on, we may as well have the tanks emptied. The good news is that despite a forecast of rain all day, it stayed dry.
Dave slept like a rock last night!
