There were no birds at the private deck when we got there. We decided to sit and listen to the waterfalls. An acorn woodpecker came and feasted in a hole in a tree.

I love woodpeckers, There is a nearby park with a ton of them (holes everywhere!) and they cackle like Woody, always making me smile. Lovely shot, and I just adore that cluster of acorns!

One of my favorite birds! We hiked out to a granary when we were at the Elkhorn Slough in California...it was hard to find but eventually, and magically, there they all were, marching up and down the trees. Beautiful spread for an industrious bird.
