Sometimes on cold, rainy days like yesterday I like to look at my pictures from a Cancun vacation. I spent most of days swaying in a hammock while reading a good book and drinking a fruity beverage with a paper umbrella. And occasionally someone would come by with freshly made pineapple, mango and coconut ice cream. Heavenly! This is a view from my hammock looking up at this gorgeous palm tree.

Process Notes:
Selected ArtsyPaper #2 from the new APP Moorlands. Rotated and flipped it horizontally until the white stain/art stroke were on top of the page. (Its circular shaped reminded me of a sunsince I was using a palm tree photo, it seemed meant to be.) Placed my photo and clipped it to MultiLayeredFotoBlendz #6. Duplicated the photo three times and played with blending modes on each duplicate. I used normal, color burn and soft light in that order and in varying amounts of opacity. Since the mask didnt show much of the trunk, I opened it up and added more brush strokes to fill in it, revealing more of the trunk. I clipped two fotoGows from MultiMedia Leaves #6 to brighten up a few dark areas on the photo. The page seemed too stark, so I added transfer #2 from APP Moorlands in the upper right-hand corner. I liked the way it created a subtle background, but stretched it out so it wouldnt overwhelm the focal palm tree. I colored in the sun/circular element on top of the page with varying shades of yellow and added a glow for a little more brightness. I used two elements of wordArt from Scenic WordArt Mix #1 along with a word in a different font and placed it at the bottom to anchor my design. To finish my design, I used the spot healing brush to clean up a few of those pesky, straggling pixels.
