I started with a solid background, then added a couple of overlays which I resized,then changed overlay color to match the green in the photo and brushed the graph paper overtop. I recolored the elements with a hue/sat layer and added in a bit of paint. I used a brush to erase parts of the wordart to blend it into the paper.
