Journaling:
We took a little-used road to Hidden Canyon, tucked in an alcove of 1,000 foot cliff walls. Remember the steep stretch of deep sand that made returning the way we came impossible, and our trepidation when we lost the sketchy road over slickrock. We came out on Hwy 313.

YES! You found your way! I'm glad you got out. When we were motoring around Alaska, we were cautious about the primordial ooze in some of the arms--forget what it's called, like quicksand. The blue of the sky is beautifully contrasty here.
