This mammoth ice waterfall is attached to the wall next to where I normally park at work. I dont know how water dripped down from the roof of the building since the temperatures have been in the single digits and low teens, but it did. Now that the temperature has risen into the 30s, it is melting and coming away from the wall. I park down from it because I am afraid it may come crashing down all of a sudden like a tree falling over. That would be bad for my car.

Photo: Mine

Process Notes: Using artsy paper 1 as my foundation, I placed the fotoblendz png and clipped my photo to it. I duplicated the photo and using a layer mask on the copy, I brushed away the brick wall, leaving the ice and wires. I put a small drop shadow under the extracted photo to bring out the ice more and blended it to Overlay.

Then opening several artsy transfers, I brought in bit and pieces under and over the photo layers mainly at the top, left side and bottom of the photo. I loved the way the white part of the wall blended in with the paper, so I left it as is. After playing around with different blend modes on the transfers, Normal was what I liked the best because the colors were perfect with the ice and the mortar in the brick wall in the photo. Sometimes you just dont need to mess with what works fine already.

In between the transfer layers, I placed the celebrate word art, recoloring to white and blending it to Soft Light after brushing some of away with a layer mask. It runs up the page to the top from the left side of the photo, it might be hard to see here. I added the the numbers to represent the temperatures we were all complaining about.

I added some splatters and stains running down from the photo on the right side towards the bottom of the page. Adding the title and threadz, I put the bird on the utility box, giving it a tiny drop shadow. We have pigeons back there, also not good for the car.
Dangerous, yet so interesting! The colors in this AP beautifully complement the brick! The little bird is the cherry on top!

holy iceflow! I cannot imagine ;-) Love the textures on this. Oh and my theory is that the stone building is warm and therefore caused the ice, but what do I know about ice?

Beautiful formations of nature, but very dangerous.
So wonderful page, love the textures!

Oh gosh it'd be like a boulder coming down on you. Good thing you noticed it. Love how you used the textures to create a feeling of danger. Awesome.

Love the blending of transfers around the photo. And such an interesting photo too. Great masking.
