This was an odd photo of my daughter in front of a pile of trash, but I liked her smile and hat and so I decided to make a Life Page about exits and entrances. Because my daugher's foot was chopped off in the picture, I decided to start from the bottom of the page and work upward. I made a cluster of the photo, frame, ribbon, and button, dabbing away bits and pieces with layer masks so everything was layered logically (and the harsh edge of the top of the photo was hidden), then slid the flash card from the Artplay Palette underneath as a matyou can't see the numerals of the flash card, just the edges. Then I made the wordart cluster and stacked it over the photo cluster. The overlay is just the photo flipped, then blended into the background (Jollification Solid Paper #5), on overlay mode.

To jazz up the page with texture, I used Artsy Transfer #1 on the right edge, feathering out the hard edges with a layer mask and Artsy Brushes. Then I pulled Artsy Transfer #5 above that along the top edge to darken the top of the page. I then put Artsy Transfer #2 on top of that, for even more texture (and gold).

The last touches were slipping in the owl, to symbolize wisdom, and scattering a few little numbers at the bottom.
AWESOME!!!! I REALLY REALLY REALLY need to learn how to use layer masks! LOVE all the background around that fantastic photo.

She looks so strong! Love your process. The use of the flash card. The duplicate photo. The ribbon frame.

awesome photo! love the journaling - love the faded big photo! awesome textures and colors! fab page!

well, not just anyone would pose in front of a pile of trash, but that must be exactly where she was meant to be at that time :) Such a dynamic 'life' page! Some similar words are in that journaling I blurred out on my last 2016 page ;-)

Like a page from an illustrated book! Perfect use of the palette. Love the framing, everything.
