Assorted FotoGlos
Vintage newspapers free-use from internet

This design is made with two pieces of Artsy Paper, a Fotoblendz, a frame, some elements, and a bit of free-use vintage newspaper from the interet. Sometimes I like to use artsy papers on the top of a layout, for texture and depth, and that is what I did here. With the flick of a blending mode, you can alter how the paper interacts with what's beneath it, producing interesting effects. In this design, my photo is clipped to a Fotoblendz, which is blended with the bottom paper on multiply mode. The top paper is also blended on multiply.

Once this sandwich was complete, the next piece I added was the frame, layered in between the top paper and the image. I masked away enough of it to make something that suggested a window, with the look of my computer falling out. The journaling and word art came nextthe title is made from the word pout in the wordART set, with the p removed.

My last touches were to grab a couple of pieces of vintage newspaper from the internet and layer them into the middle of the layer stack at reduced opacity on color burn and hard light blending modes, masking away the bits and pieces that didn't fit. Then I added Fotoglos under the title for some light.
hahaha love your relationship with your computer, fantastic illustrated but also apparent!!!

Happy New Year Laura!

such an expressive collage. love that you used a frame as a symbolic window. you can do both, you know. but i do understand, i go through more reading time cycles too. currently reading the louise perry detective series, love them. if you haven't read, add 'em to your list!

I too am re-evaluating my relationship with the news, so this page hits home for me. Dead on. I love how heartfelt it is.

Wow! What a cool page, such a creative mind you have! I too would like to through most of the news out the window, oh to just hear some good news for a change! I adore your layout!

Wonderful collage and journaling! I'd rather read, too. I'm currently into the Lisa See novels.

Good grief, I love your journaling. I'm into reading Washington Post, but it is digital....
