Oh! Happy Happy Day

I little over a year ago I admired artsy pages created by some very talented people, with no idea how to put something like that together myself . . . totally clueless. It all looked so mysterious and complicated and beyond me. In fact, I had bought some of Annas beautiful kits and sort of played around with the bits and pieces, but really feeling totally lost and certainly not creating anything of the caliber of the artists I saw in the Gallery. But at the same time, I also realized I just didnt have the knowledge, and knowledge is king. A year ago November, I took Annas Blendz class and that mysterious door opened for me to reveal that magical process of creating artsy pages with her beautiful palettes. Then shockingly, she asked if she could highlight my pages on her blog, then even more shockingly, she asked me to be on her Creative Team. Its been a year now, and I still dont believe it. To be in the company of such talented ladies, is incredibly humbling and yet at the same time, makes me proud. I continue to take Annas classes, learning new tricks all the time and hopefully grow in my own endeavors to become better and better at this wonderful and gratifying art form. So, if youre like me, thinking you cant do it, think again. Youre only a class away from surprising yourself and creating something you thought beyond you.

Process Notes: Using artsy paper 1 as my base, I placed the fotoblendz and clipped Autumns photo to it. Adding a brush on the left side over the fotoblendz from the palette, I duplicated the photo and clipped it to the brush to soften the edge of the blendz. A glow brightened the top of the photo and brought Autumns face out a little better, using Vivid Light blend mode with a 36% opacity.

Underneath the mask/photo I placed a couple of trees on each side, recoloring from the palette. Autumn was standing in the middle of a tree lined street. She likes to have her picture taken while standing in roadways. Over the photo I added pieces of the art stroke frames, little numbers and the word art mix. I recolored the numbers and word art mix from the palette and left the art stroke frame as is.

On the left and right edges of the page, I added transfers from the palette to balance the turquoise, golds and yellows and leaving them on Normal blend mode.

Bringing in the MM Balloon and using all the layers, I placed it to look like she is holding it in the hand. Finally bringing in the title word art, I ran a style on it , adjusting it a little and placed another glow under it, resizing and blending it to Hard Light and called it done.
Well you were a star student!! You certainly don't have any trouble creating gorgeous pages now! This one is a real work of Art!

Beautiful page and perfect title! Love the blending and you are an inspiration, Barbara!

Being a "roadway picture" person myself, I get Autumn's preference--driving through the redwoods last year, my daughter stopped the car and we took pictures of ourselves dancing on the road. Who knows where that comes from? All I can say is that road-dancing is an irresistible draw for many of us. Your notes above are so true--plunge yourself in and learn. And look what beauty results! Well done, BH!

lovely... always thought you were one of the pros... looking forward to this years class myself... your creativity highlights the gallery... great capture of a fun moment of whimsy...
