JOURNALING: We moved to north central Florida in April 2002 and into our house the following year. It was quite an adjustment moving from California to Florida and it took me over ten years before I stopped telling people we were from California.
Two years ago we became true Floridians when we installed a pink flamingo in our yard as a Christmas decoration. What says Florida more than flamingoes! After all, its the abundance of beautiful, wild water birds that is my favorite thing about this unique state.
The first year we were here, we thought we saw a flamingo in the wild. Turned out it was a Roseate Spoonbill and we still havent seen a flamingo except at a zoo or bird sanctuary.or in our yard at Christmas time!
