This was a simple blending job, consisting of selecting an Artsy Paper (#2) and a solid paper (#1) from the Artplay Palette, blending them together on Color Burn mode, and then blending in my photo with inverted masking using the Artsy #4 Brushes.
From there I used Multimedia Holiday Elements to decorate the page just like I'd decorate a Christmas Tree. I used bits and pieces of four MM elements, modifying the various layers to fit. Because each element comes on its own layer, it is simple to customize everything. I also added a few of the Evergreen brushes and the Beaded Threadz from the Holiday WordART pack.
The main thing was making the journaling visible on the darker background (I didn't want to change the text color to white), so I simply sampled a lighter color from the page and stamped the lighter color behind the text with Artsy Brushes so that it would be readable.
