Seeing the most popular tourist destinations in southern Bavaria took a deal of planning, and the making of an advance reservation. So, rain or shine, we had to go, get there early, and see the greatest of King Ludwigs castles. It rained, all day. Umbrellas, ponchos and selectively waiting under awnings and doorways was the only way we stayed somewhat dry. But it was all worth it, as these are spectacular sights to have seen, even if the best views had to be procured via a postcard. I think I am most proud of having learned to pronounce the names of these castles.
