This was inspired by Adryanes Autumn Queen layout. Creating clusters is not my strong point at all, although I admire them in other peoples work. So having said that, I knew the foundation I wanted when I started, but had no idea where this was going to take me. Ive loved this illustration for years and wanted to use her in a layout. But what was she to become? I didnt know that until I was about halfway through the layout.

Process Notes: Having extracted the illustration from its background, I colored the eyes and lips with a hard brush and each on its own layer. I used Color Burn to intensify the color and bring out the illustration lines. I also intensified the catch light in her eyes, with tiny white dots using the hard round brush, also on its own layer.
Using solid paper 3, I moved her onto the canvas. It was time to gussy her up. I placed the bow then created the first cluster behind it and below the bow in the layers panel. Using a layer mask, I masked out the stems that were showing over her face. She needed earrings so I used parts of the MM Branches.
I brought in the gold toned transfer from the palette and duplicating it two more time, positioning them to sweep across the page.
I brought in another transfer placing it at her throat, and using a layer mask, brushed away any harsh line that was still showing through from the illustration. Using bits and pieces of the artsy transfers, I added texture around her to give the impression of a body.
It was at this time it hit me what she was becoming, so I added the wood transfer from wilderness behind her and another silver toned transfer at the top of the page next to the wood.
From there I started building the clusters to imply a necklace and again, sweeping off to the right side of the page. I used parts of the MM branches and leaves to accomplish this.
Creating the title I duplicated the wood transfer and clipped it to the word wood, resizing it. I also gave the text layer a little bevel and emboss and a tiny shadow. On the word Nymph I added swashes to the first and last letters then using the Blend Ifs on it.
I used the stains, splatters and glows that Anna provides in her MM supplies I love. I used word art and overlays. And finally, just above the paper in the layers panel, I used the script tease overlay, coloring it a dark shade of green and blending it to Linear Light to give a subtle frame around the piece.
