Notes using Photoshop Elements 14
I used an abstract painting as a springboard to create this piece about how the kids came into a set of really expensive track suits (spoiler: this conceptthe abstract painting lift, NOT the track suits--will be showing up in a future artPLAY challenge).
I followed the directionality of the inspiration piece and the general color blocking, working with a variety of brushes to get the shapes and squiggles I liked, but didn't try to replicate the painting tit for tat, especially since my composition included a photo and the painting obviously didn't. There were two dark spaces on the painting and I created those using a Modgrunge Fotoblendz for the photo and a black brush for the text block. I then stamped edging at the left side of the photo and slipped in the background papers (the crack comes from the Memento paper, on multiply).
I added the title last, nestling it into the side of the photo by warping it with my new friend, the warp text tool (this is the arc lower selection), which I learned all about in Anna's new WordART Live class. The journaling and embellishments completed the page.
