Notes using Photoshop Elements 14

I had two photos that I wanted to usean overview of the boardwalk through the salt marsh in the Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island, the other of the view from the boardwalk into the marsh.

I started with the view photo first, choosing Artsy Transfer #2 and clipping the photo and several duplicates to many of the layers using various blending modes. I got a nice effect on the gold leaves layer of the Artsy Transfer by adding a drop shadow.

I then placed the boardwalk photo, using Autumn Romance Fotoblendz #1. I worked on deepening the shadows by duplicating the photo and using blending modes and layer masks. The trick here was to jiggle the size and orientation of the two photos to make the connection between them make sense. I used layer masks for that, too. I placed Artsy Transfer #3 along the left edge to add more color and texture.

The background is Artsy Paper #2.

After everything was positioned I added the quote, title (recolored), and the journaling. I kept the embellishments simple to go with the simplicity of the photosthe leaves, a button, and the Button Threadz.
