Process Notes: After I took a photo of the plate, I extracted it from the background. I opened a new document and moved the plate onto the 12 x12 page. Using solid paper 1 as the foundation, I duplicated the plate layer two more times and resized and positioned them.
On the left of the plates,I positioned the Duz photo I found on the internet under the three plates and used a reverse mask to bring back the parts I wanted. I duplicated it two more times putting the blend modes on Screen and Soft Light adjusting the opacity of each layer. On the right side I positioned the photo of the set of dishes and brushed away the harsh lines of the edges and blended the photo to Color Burn.
Underneath all these layers I placed the FotoBlendz and clipped artsy paper 4 to it. I added an artsy transfer and moved and resized the various parts over the page over and under the photos. I used several brushes from the palette, blending them.
Adding the title, I clipped the gold paint to it and changed the blending mode of the paint layers to Overlay. Then bringing in the journaling and notebook lines, I duplicated the plate photo three more times and positioned them at the bottom of the page. On the left side I added the word art, flowering branch and grass. That completed this page.
Geez...this comes at the exact right time. I inherited my parents' good dishes and have been wanting to document them for my kids and had absolutely no idea how--so don't be surprised if you see me lift this page! The colors are perfect and I love how you ventured out of the typical chromatic range that one would expect to see with the colors on the dishware. Really satisfying to look at. Awesome brushwork/embellishment, too.
I'm envious that you got the Wheat pattern dish. My sister-in-law took my husband's mother's dishes and then sold them off in a yard sale (didn't know about it, otherwise I would have bought them). Beautiful page and love the opposing colors and journaling.
What a treasure you have!! What a beautiful page to keep this memory alive!! The colours are perfect, your journaling is wonderful and I know there will be lots of scrap lifts of this one!!
