This was a quickie layout for my daughter's scrapbook, inspired by stumbling across the photo from a few years ago and wanting to capture my thoughts in real time.

Process notes with Photoshop Elements 14

I opened Artsy Paper No. 4 and then dragged in my photos. I blended both into the paperthe big ferris wheel was against a dark sky so by using the screen blending mode I was able to knock out the background without having to do an extraction. I used inverted masking to reveal the parts of the photos I wanted.

I did the title and journaling next. I tend to do these at the beginning of the process, because I like full compositions and if I wait too long, I am often scurrying around at the end trying to force out enough space for text.

The tutu seemed like it should be more frothy so to get some depth to it, I stamped on a star brush, set the drop shadow to high in the layers panel, and then clipped on a duplicate of the photo. I then added the butterflies and circle tags because I liked the way the round shapes repeated the ferris wheel.

I completed the layout by enriching the background. I added a warping frame, transfers and overlays from the Artplay Palette, then pulled in Artsy Transfers #5 and #1, positioning them along the top edges. Lastly, I altered the title by clipping a duplicate photo of my daughter to it, to pick up the lace in her outfit and added the white stitch overlay.
Looks like a fairy tale--love all the butterflies and the ferris wheel complimenting the circular vibe

Ah, reminds me of the circle of life..sometimes we must look back to see how far we've gone. What a wonderful memory page for your daughter. Love how the light becomes darker too.

As always, I love reading your journaling. I like how you framed it with the stitching and little stars. Your photo placement and blending is always so energetic, love that.

Perfect memory page! I adore your journaling its always so heartfelt! I know your daughter will love this page!

Not only do you have beautiful artsy pages, but your journaling comes from the heart! And every girl should wear a tutu sometime in her life! Love this!
