Notes on Photoshop Elements 14
This is a blendy layout where I worked in a photo of one of my daughters as well as a shot of Alcatraz inmates into a background built up of the two solid papers on multiply blend mode. I clipped the photo to the canvas transfer layer in the Artsy Transfer; to blend the prisoners, I placed them in the layer stack on screen blend mode and most of the background fell awayI removed the rest with a layer mask. I framed the photo and then built bars by enlarging the frame, duplicating it, and scattering it among the various Artsy Transfer layers, again changing blend modes. I wanted the piece to be somewhat chaotic-looking because it was an emotional visit, so I also used lots of the transfers and overlays that came in the artplay palette for color and texture. Then I dropped the edge overlay on at the end, to contain all that emotion.
