Journaling: Rhode Island was our destination, July 2016 for a pharmacology conference. We spent several days hiking and biking at some of their state parks. It was just beautiful. The beaches are very rocky, eventhough there was a great deal of sand just a little further back from the shore. We found that you could walk quite a ways at several of the parks. We saw several different types of birds that we did not recognize. These birds were sitting along the shoreline on one of the rugged rocks that make the shorelines so interesting.
The water of the Atlantic was not as cold as I would have thought it would be. There was alot of seaweed along the shore in some areas, but not very much in other areas. We certainly enjoyed taking a dip on some of the very hot afternoons we were out and about.
