these are photos of kittiwakes - smallish gulls - I love that these gulls nest on the steepest cliffs and the babies have learned to stay very still. As a bird watcher I find it so interesting that all these species have learned to find their spot on the island.

The rocky cliffs are amazing! We just watched a special about birds nesting on the cliffs. Don't remember where or what bird it was, but once the babies hatched, they had to jump off the cliff to join their parents on the grassy land. No flying, just a wing and a prayer that they made it.
