48 years. The estate. Mother saved the dress.
And the train, but it was windy. 42 degrees.
Ricks ashes are there. The mountain goats.
Glacier Mountain 12,495 ft. Still snowfields
in August. Sts. John Road 1 1/2 hrs. one way.

Journaling:
It was a two-day effort. We packed the dress and when we got to the top of the mountain it was badly wrinkled. Back in Silverthorne we had fun waiting for check-in at the outlet mall. Remember my new hat and sunglasses, and how we ironed the dress and planned our redux.

Rick was my first husband; we married in 1968. My mother "disowned" me but kept my wedding dress. It still fits me, so Stone and I decided to drive up where we placed Rick's ashes, to take photos of me in it. Glacier Mountain gets few visitors because it's hard to get to, but a place where I could change into the dress with nobody around and so incredibly scenic for two months out of the year. I carefully packed the dress, but it was a hot mess the first day, so we repeated the whole get-up-at-3:30-am routine, and staged the dress on top of the load.
What great shot of you in the dress and on the jeep! Thanks for sharing the story - pretty impressive that you can still wear the dress. Interesting how your mother disowned. My MIL disowned us too! Love the red highlights! gorgeous page!

Hugs. Laying the ghosts of the past is such a hard thing to do. Your red shoes speak to me of the spirit of that young girl in her other life. A toast to her.

You are such a wonderful story teller be it events in your past or adventures today. Bravo to the brave young girl and bravo to the woman she became! Love the page, too.

DK, there is always a new dimension to you just around the bend. You and the red Jeep have become synonymous in my mind with both physical discovery and self-discovery. This one's super special. Keep on keeping on.

Beautiful photo's You look great in that dress! Love the colors and the balance of the pages! You are aways so good at that!

what a wonderful story ... and girl, you look like a young bride yourself! I too have got to hand you credit for the red shoes -- who would expect anything less! What a journey your life is.

What a fabulous story -- wonderful photos -- luv your photo on the jeep -- fabulous, fabulous job ;)

This literally brings tears to my eyes. You are a master storyteller that brings so much punch and emotion in a few short sentences! You look fabulous in the dress and those crazy cool red shoes. And the scenery wouldn't be complete without your red jeep. Your pages are always a delight to me and I so agree with Musicmom.

Spirit..courage..honesty..and a willingness to face it head-on. I am inspired!!
