Breakfast

Journaling: There is nothing like preparing and sharing a wonderful meal with someone you love. When Sophia stayed with me last summer, we made these wonderful breakfast muffins together, laughing and talking all the while. When they were baked we sat on the patio in the quiet early morning air, continuing our conversation and savoring every delicious bite. Its the moments like this that make recipes memorable.

Process Notes: After opening the Artsy Layered Template and mixing the Cuisine and Gather palettes, I gave the layout an art journaling kind of look. First I turned the visibility of each layer off until I was ready to use them.

After placing and clipping the photo of Sophia, which I made into black and white then duplicating it and putting the copy on Color Burn at 100% opacity. Then I clipped the photos of our breakfast to the clipping masks of the template. I clipped a couple of transfers into the right edge clipping mask.

Using all but one layer in the template I clipped and blended papers and transfers to the various paint and mask layers of the template and experimenting with blend modes until I got something I liked. I used a gesso style on a couple of the paint layers for added texture.

I added brushes from both palettes, the word art strips, which I grunged up a bit with stains and using the strawberry from the summer multimedia and giving it a blend mode and duplicating it and placing it at the bottom corner of the page over a transfer I added there.

I moved the journaling onto the black and white photo, then put in the recipe that Sophia had fun making that morning. (We did substitute hash browns for the bread.)

Adding brads, threads and staples finished the layout. I was fun creating this page with Annas wonderful palettes and the memory I have of this special breakfast. Its not just good food but who you share it with.
Congrats on the GSO, it's absolutely deserved!!! Love everything in this page, also the sweet journaling that really gives me a strong image of the feelings involved!!!
