Process
Inspired by Donna Goar's recent piece using ArtsyKardz, I plunged into my collection and pulled out several Kardz from two collections. I altered the photo of my daughter with a filter on the Prisma App, then turned my attention to the background, building it up from pieces of the Kardz as well as layers from the MultiMedia Documents. I positioned the photo on the page at reduced opacity on multiply blending mode and selectively removed areas to let the background peek through, using layer masks. I then dragged layers of ArtsyKardz over the photo for color, texture, and word art (I also cut words apart from the Blessings set, recolored them, and positioned them in the cluster). I added the tape and film wheel for embellishment toward the end of the process. To complete the layout I used a couple of overlays, recoloring some, reducing the opacity of others, and removing bits here and there with layer masks. I added some sparks last and evened out the colors and textures with brushwork on various blending modes.
