They are my favorite flower. Their delicate lacy
petals are so elegant as they respond to the light
breezes, swaying to and fro. The ruffled ivory petals
proudly surround the beautifully folded pink centers
as if to provide a protective barrier from the sun
and heat. The yellow dot, inside against the pink,
is like an explanation point that gives that final
depth of loveliness.
I have tried to grow these beauties for years and
have failed miserably. The plants were beautiful
but the blooms would never open and reveal their
magnificent loveliness and aroma. This year,
I was so proud they honored my hard work with
their open blooms. It made me smile inside and
out. The feeling of success along with happiness.
My peonies made my home smell amazing.
