This is the last in a series of six works using a photo of a barn and various video stills of people and a field, screen-snapped from my daughter's recent music video. (Actually, I've extended the series to 7, as I got carried away on an offshoot of an earlier design.) All the photos were photomontaged the same way as the others in the series, the only difference being that I started with one of Anna's templates, clipping copies of my photos to the paint and magic flares. As with the others in this series, I used lots of change-ups in blending modes and lots of layer masks to blend things together. The graffiti on the door is from the Painted Numbers, and I made the neon word to the right by brushing over the font with a bright orange color set to color dodge blending mode. I really enlarged the field photos so that the wheat stalks looked like trees and used the word transfer to echo the big neon word. The Aspera papers (duplicated, on hard light and multiply blending modes) form the sky.
This is fascinating and full of cool ideas...the neon is brilliant! Also love the 'graffiti'. such bold and cool use of products!

Wow this is really out of the box. Can't get over the 3 dimensional effect of that barn. I can imagine walking over there to open the door or pull a sheet of that corrugated iron away from the wall. The neon lighting is amazing. Very cool as my kids would say.

ok, this is amazing ... so many different ideas -- ever think about doing a tutorial (or do you?). This definitely deserves a "Pin"

love your series of barns! love the background fence and cool sign "stay" gorgeous!

I can't stop staring at your composition. Fabulous marriage of photos to work with and what you did with them is out of this world! The 'neon' is so clever as is the use of the window in that old shed. I adore the little flares in the composition, as if the music that is coming out of the shed is producing magical electricity. And what a clever use of the numbers on the door. Okay, I've gushed enough, another fabulous addition to your series.

This is amazing! I love the lights, the birds and cattails in the background, just a fabulous composition!
