I almost didn't post this because one other time I tried to mimic someone (probably Marleen), MY version was selected as a GSO, and I felt terrible...the original should have been picked. But like many of you, I'm sure, Marleen's style just fascinates me. So this morning instead of doing laundry, I have been WORKING HARD to see if I could duplicate her beautiful Boden Lake layout. The operative phrase here, is "working hard." I still didn't achieve some of the nuances of the original. And part of Marleen's genius is recognizing a photograph that sings. And by the way, I didn't know about all the wonderful photos-for-the-borrowing at Pixabay! What a treasure-trove! I don't have the same products Marleen used, so had to find similar elements and even draw my own scruffy art stroke. The bottom line is, I guess I'm not usually inclined to spend so much time on this sort of thing...there are too many personal/kid/grandkid photos to scrap. But as long as Marleen keeps inspiring me, there will certainly be days when art trumps laundry.
Shamelessly stolen from Marleen!
