Notes:
I used the template as is, only tugging the sizes of things a bit smaller to fit my text. I clipped in the photos, creating a vignette effect around the main image by blending the background papers on multiply mode. I then added the greens, using the artsy stains and recoloring the artstroke that was included on the template.
I made the title by typing in the word rain in a bold font then clipping a duplicate of the main photo to it. To make the word art stand out, I used the color picker to grab a brown from the artsy paper, then stamped it behind the title with artsy brushes on separate layers, changing the blend mode to color burn.
Because I wanted a built-up look, I finished the layout by pulling in an artsy transfer over everything--I methodically clicked through the layers one at a time, moving things up and down in the layer stack, recoloring paints and stains, and varying blending modes until I got the look I wanted. Some rain and a button and it was done.
Since I am self-printing this at 8x8, I'm not worried about the edges the way I would be if I were have the album professionally printed.
