Holland produces 650 000 tons of cheese a year. Two thirds of the production are intended for the export, which makes of the Holland the biggest exporter of cheese for the world. On average, a Dutchman consumes 14,3 kilos of cheese a year. Thus the reputation of the Netherlands regarding cheese is not gal-vaude.
