Het Keukenhof is a floral park, is opened every year of she(it) in the middle of March in mid-May. On the 32 hectares of the park, the floral companies(societies) of the region expose(explain) to spring their bulbs in flower, in particular tulips, it is, in surface, the biggest floral park to the world. It is during the xve century that the park was created, being a member(part) of the domain of the castle of Teylingen. He(it) was of use as kitchen garden to countess Jacoba of Bavaria. In 1840, the park was redrawn.. In 1949, the property was transformed to welcome flower shows with bulbs. The park of exhibition(exposure) is surrounded with real fields of tulips, hyacinths, narcissuses, and light yellow. Several detached houses(flags) present flower shows (tulips, orchids in the detached house(flag) Beatrix). A windmill dating 1892A mill was installed in the park in 1957 for a bigger authenticity. He allows to have a point of view in height on fields in the surroundings. The former formal gardens of the castle were kept.
