Notes on process:

To make this layout, I collaged three photos for the background in addition to using three photos in frames. I started by altering the template to fit the framed photos, which consisted of duplicating a frame and moving it to the left, then adding space between the two frames on the right. I clipped my photos into position.

I added solid paper 5 at the bottom of the layer stack and pulled in the full-size windmill photo over it, blending it on color blend mode. I then duplicated the photo and clipped it to several of the paint layers in the template on soft light, multiply, overlay, and linear light modes.

I then went back to the original photo (the one over the background paper), and converted it to black and white. Over this photo I pulled in the shot of the California poppies, blending it with an artsy brush on reduced opacity, and then I did the same with the purple flowers.

To hide the blending, I covered the seams with a few of the transfers in the artplay palette and also used Transfer #1 and Transfer #10, which are nice and filmy, over the framed photos and the background on color blend mode to add accents of light.

Lastly, I duplicated some of the white paint in the template and moved it behind the other framed photos, to make a mat. Then I added the little piece of tape, the buttons, and the Button Threadz.
