Cest La Vie April Collab
Since January 7, 2016 dad has been in and out of the hospital. As he gets older its harder for him to fully recover before hes admitted again. From 1/7 to 1/12 he had pneumonia. On 1/18th he was admitted again for pneumonia. This time he was discharged on 1/22nd. On 1/29th he told me his arm was swollen and red. Took him to the ER. This time he was admitted for a blood clot in the same area he had his pacemaker put in. While he was being treated, he developed a bacterial infection. On 3/3rd he was transferred to a nursing home to continue his IV antibiotic. He was supposed to have the antibiotics until 3/22, but while in the nursing home he developed pneumonia again. This time, on 3/17th he was transferred back to the hospital for treatment. He spent another 6 days in the hospital.
Once discharged, he went home and rested until he fully recovered, or so we thought. April 12th he was admitted for pneumonia again and is still in the hospital. I think this time was his hardest. At first he was running a fever of 103 degrees and was having a tough time breathing. With the help of antibiotics, breathing treatments and re hydration he was starting to feel better. Three days later, after I had visited him, the hospital called me and said he was having severe chest pains and wanted to talk to me. On the phone, he told me he was scared and wanted me to come back to the hospital. As I walked into his room, I saw at least a dozen hospital workers by his bedside all thinking he is having a heart attack. After a while the pain subsided and blood tests were taken, it showed he did not have a heart attack it was just a severe spasm. As of today, he is resting comfortably., awaiting the day when he can finally get better and go home for good!
