As I said before, I dont watch much TV, it being a big snooze button for me, but like Downton Abbey in the past, Outlander is one program I wont miss. Its the fastest hour on TV for me. It is rare that books Ive read are brought to the screen and you can say they did it right, but its the case so far with Outlander. The casting is spot on, as is the whole look and feel of the production.
Journaling: WWII has ended and English nurse Claire is gathering medicinal herbs outside of Inverness Scotland while her husband Frank is researching his ancestry in town during their reacquainting honeymoon. Suddenly a strong wind and an overwhelming roar from the stone cropping draws her to touch, hurling her back to 1743 to a conflict between the British and Scots she knows will end in a tragic disaster at Culloden and a warrior with a price on his head she cant leave.

Process Notes: I kept the template mostly in tack, except for deleting a paint layer and duplicating a stain, rotating and moving it to the opposite side of the page to give the impression of clouds. I blended the various stains, textures, paints and art strokes as I built the layout, moving them as needed.
I positioned the stone cropping photo over solid paper 3 from the Moon palette using the gradient tool and brushes to soften the harsh edge at the top of the photo, then blending it to Color Burn to give it a more mysterious look. I added a couple of FotoGlows and blended to Overlay and turned down the opacity.
The left framed photo of Claire and Frank I made into a sepia tone more in keeping to the period. I blended 5 different glows to the photo of Claire touching the stone to get the electrical look I wanted. On the photo of Claire and Jamie on the right, I added the stitches from UrbanThreadz Framed No. 2 and placed a stain on the photo leaving it on Normal with 72% opacity. I clipped the large middle photo to the paint leaving it also on Normal with 70% opacity. I added the threads along the bottom of the middle photo after flipping it vertically, which serendipitously connect three of the stones. Happy accident.
I added the title with a PhotoBlendz underneath blending and turning down the opacity, journaling, Moon word art, another thread and coin on the Claire and jamie photo and called it finished.
