I never seem to get to Balboa Park as much as I would like. I so enjoy the Architecutural wonders that can be found throughout the park, and would love to learn more about the history of each and every building, although I dont know that I could learn as much as I would like. I have worked in the building trades all my adult life, and I also feel a bond to building such as this as my Grandfather was a mason that came over from Italy and worked on many of the ornate buildings at Yale University, so these buildings, although very different in their ornate design, so remind me of him.

Journaling reads: A trip to Balboa Park in San Diego is like transporting yourself to a earlier time in history. Msny of the design elements are of Gothic, Plateresque, Baroque, Churrigueresque, and Rococo styles, so very detailed and ornate, and so different than the buildings of today. I can spend hours just walking through the park with camera in hand, discovering new details at every turn.

Process Notes: I began with the 8x8 ArtsyTemplate, and added the photo to the clipping mask. I then added a background cardstock, and began modifying the colors of the various layers on the template. I then added the title font, placing a stroke and deep shadow on the word Beauty, added the threadz and word strip and word art. I added the journaling, and finished up by bringing in portions of the ArtsyTransfers from both Beach and Getaway. I took one of the Glows from ATBeach, and placed it on Blend Mode Vivid Light, and placed it over the ornate portion of the building, masking out the area of the window itself, to keep the turquoise color in the window.
