Process (PSE14):
I started by dragging the template into my workspace and then turning off all the layers except for the frames. I then altered the template so that I could add my story in one text block. I clipped in the photos, duplicating a frame when I realized I was one short. The large photo is clipped to a stain and its duplicate to a large paint area--to get the stripes, I created a mask by layering several ThinStripMasks together side by side, merging them, then clipping a duplicate of the photo to the merged masks.

For the background I dragged in a solid paper from the artplay palette, then pulled in two artsy transfers, turning layers on and off as I went along. I supplemented these with some transfers and overlays from the artplay palette. Then I turned the layers of the template back on one by one, from the bottom upI wound up using most of the texture, stain, and artstroke layers, but deleted the masks and much of the paint.

For embellishments I used a button and button threads and a multimedia branch, and then I adjusted the light with the fotoglos.
Love all the vibrant colors! It's hard when family is separated by miles, but we do keep the post office busy with all our mailings! And thank goodness for the internet and phones! Wonderful page about staying connected via snail mail!

Love the phrase "good cheer despite our distances"...absolutely love your painted flower and button arrangement on the left...fabulous color!

Beautiful page and photo's! love the masking of the background photo and the painted flowers!

The colors! And the journaling! The photos, especially how Emma is framed in light! So warm in spirit.

I can understand you, she's miles away and that's so hard! Your page is awesome, the background picture is beautiful like the other pictures, I love the texture and the buttons!

aw, beautiful stories of love bringing tears to my eyes, so lovely how you manage to keep close. love the stripey effect and the kittie in the flowers :)

love your kind of "white space" design. always fun to celebrate love with your loved ones too.
